Cabin heat through the doors and hatch
The Model Y has a lot of glass overhead, and the factory roof glass is already dark. Ceramic film on the door and hatch glass is what you feel in a parking lot.
Rear window care
The defroster lines and the electronics near the hatch are protected before the water comes out.

Inglewood to the shop
Roughly 10.6 miles, about 21 to 25 minutes outside rush hour. Open Monday to Saturday, 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM; Sunday closed. Set an appointment first, then drop the Model Y off or wait at the shop until it is finished. Customers come from more than 100 miles away for Tesla tint; Inglewood is a short run.
Wait inside (seating, Netflix, free Wi-Fi, restroom, water fountain) or take a walk: restaurants, coffee shops, a Starbucks, a mall and movie theaters are all within walking distance, which Inglewood customers tell us makes the drop-off painless. Everyone is welcome; we are an LGBTQ-friendly shop. Three freeways lead here: we are right off the 110, and the 405 and 710 drop you close by, whichever way Inglewood traffic sends you.

Inglewood questions we hear
How is the Model Y hatch window tinted without a seam?
One sheet of ceramic film is heat-shrunk on the outside of the hatch glass until it matches the curve, then moved inside and installed. It takes longer than laying strips, but the result is a rear window that looks like factory dark glass instead of film with lines across it.
Is it worth coming from Inglewood for Model Y tint instead of the nearest shop?
The Model Y has frameless doors, a curved hatch window and cameras in the glass. A shop that handles those every day gets them right the first time. Inglewood is about twenty minutes away, which is far less than many of our Tesla customers drive.
Will ceramic tint affect the cameras or the phone key on my Model Y?
No. The film has no metallic layer, so it does not block the phone key, the cellular signal or Bluetooth. Camera zones on the glass are left uncovered, and the pillar and fender cameras are not on tinted glass at all. Autopilot works the same after the install.
How dark can the Model Y go and still be legal in California?
Front door glass must pass 70% of visible light, so the fronts stay light. The rear doors and hatch glass have no limit. Ceramic film at the legal front shade still rejects most of the heat, so a light front with a dark rear is the usual choice.
Can an Inglewood owner add a dash camera on the same visit?
Yes. A dash camera on a Model Y is wired to a fused source with the cable hidden behind the headliner and trim, so nothing dangles. Mention it when you book so the full day is set aside, and plan to drop the car off rather than wait.
