Ladera Heights Model X owners have the falcon-wing glass, the tall front doors and the oversized windshield tinted at Tesla Tint LA by Audio MotorSports, 22025 S Avalon Blvd Ste A in Carson, about 13 miles away. Ceramic film is shaped to each curve, the camera and sensor zones stay open, and the Model X, like every Tesla, is quoted by model at the shop.

The falcon-wing doors open upward on curved glass with their own seal design, so the film is formed to the curve and trimmed where the door meets the roof. The front doors are the tallest in the Tesla range. The windshield gets a visor strip only, well below the camera housing.
The sedans and crossovers get a one-piece rear window and frameless door glass cut to the seal.

On an X the factory roof glass is already dark; ceramic film on the doors and rear glass cuts the heat on the second and third rows.

Plan for about 13 miles and roughly 26 to 31 minutes outside rush hour. Hours are Monday through Saturday, 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM; closed Sunday. Book an appointment, then drop the Model X off or wait at the shop while it is done. Some of our Tesla customers drive in from San Diego; Ladera Heights is a quick trip by comparison.
Wait inside (seating, Netflix, free Wi-Fi, restroom, water fountain) or take a walk: restaurants, coffee shops, a Starbucks, a mall and movie theaters are all within walking distance, which Ladera Heights customers tell us makes the drop-off painless. Everyone is welcome; we are an LGBTQ-friendly shop. From Ladera Heights you can reach us by the 110, the 405 or the 710; the shop is right off the 110 at Avalon Blvd.

The rear glass on those doors is curved and hinged at the roof, so the film has to be shaped to the curve and cut so nothing catches when the door swings up and seals down. It takes longer than a normal rear door, and it is the main reason the Model X carries its own quote.
Close enough, but a full Model X can take most of a day, so many owners drop it off in the morning and come back later. If you prefer to wait, you are welcome to. Either way, book ahead so the bay is reserved for your car.
No. The film is non-metallic, so the phone key and the cellular and Bluetooth signals pass through. The camera areas on the glass are left uncovered and the film stops clear of the sensor housings. Autopilot sees exactly what it saw before the tint.
Yes. California only restricts the front door glass, which has to pass 70% of visible light. The rear doors, the quarter glass by the third row and the rear window can all go dark for privacy and heat. We match the shade across the rear so the car looks even.
Immediately for opening and closing; the film is on the inside of the glass and does not touch the hinge or seal. Keep the windows up for a few days so the film cures, and avoid the rear defroster during that time. After that, normal use.
