A Tesla sees through a windshield camera cluster and pillar, fender and rear cameras, and it talks to your phone and the network through the glass. We keep the windshield housing uncovered, cut the door film well clear of the pillar cameras, and use ceramic film that passes signals. Nothing about Autopilot, the phone key or the app changes.

Book first, then drop the Tesla off or wait at the shop while the film goes on. Our Tesla customers include people who drive in from more than 100 miles out; El Segundo is a short hop.
Wait inside (seating, Netflix, free Wi-Fi, restroom, water fountain) or take a walk: restaurants, coffee shops, a Starbucks, a mall and movie theaters are all within walking distance, which El Segundo customers tell us makes the drop-off painless. Everyone is welcome; we are an LGBTQ-friendly shop. The shop sits right off the 110 freeway, with easy access from the 405 and the 710 as well, so three freeways lead to it from El Segundo. El Segundo sends us engineers and staff from the aerospace and corporate offices along the 105, usually on a weekday drop-off.

By marking the camera zones before any film is cut. The windshield housing stays uncovered and the visor strip ends above it. The pillar and fender cameras are not on the door glass, and the rear camera is in the lid. The door film is cut to the seal, nowhere near a lens.
No. Films with a metal layer can, which is why we do not use them on Teslas. Ceramic film has no metal, so the phone key, Bluetooth and cellular data pass through the glass the same as before. Owners do not notice any change in connection or unlocking.
Yes. The dash camera is wired to a fused source with the cable hidden behind the headliner and pillar trim, so nothing hangs near the mirror. It adds time to the visit, so say you want both when you book and we will reserve enough of the day.
It is not. The rear camera lives in the trunk or hatch lid, not on the glass, so the rear window film never covers it. The rear defroster keeps working under the film; just let the film cure for a few days before switching the defroster on.
Front door glass must pass 70% of visible light. Ceramic film at that shade still rejects most infrared heat, so the fronts get cooler without a dark look. The rear doors and rear window have no shade limit and can go as dark as you prefer.
