Model S rear window
Wide and curved, tinted as one formed sheet over the defroster lines. The wiring and speakers behind the glass are covered before the window is wet.
Model 3, Model Y, Model X and Cybertruck
Shorter panels on the 3 and Y, the tallest glass on the X, and flat panels on the Cybertruck. Each has its own pattern and its own figure.
Camera clearance and clean signals
The camera cluster and side repeaters are masked and left uncovered. The film is ceramic with no metal, so the phone key, GPS and cellular connection stay as they were.

Venice to the Carson shop
Venice is about 15.9 miles from the shop, roughly 32 to 38 minutes outside rush hour. We are open Mon-Sat from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM, closed Sunday. Book a slot, then drop the Model S for the day or wait at the shop and drive it home when the film is on.
For a longer job from Venice, some people walk to the mall, the movie theaters or a coffee shop nearby; the DoubleTree down the street has a full bar, and Cabrillo Beach is about 12 minutes away. Everyone is welcome; we are an LGBTQ-friendly shop. Coming from Venice, take whichever is moving: the shop is right off the 110 and easy from the 405 and the 710.

Venice questions we hear
Is it worth bringing a Model S from Venice to Carson for tint?
Yes. The Model S has the most curved door glass in the Tesla range, and film that is not properly heat-formed to it will show fingers and lift at the edges. At 15.9 miles the drive is about half an hour outside rush hour, and owners come from far beyond Venice for this work.
Why does Model S tint take longer than a Model 3?
The panels are longer and the curve is deeper, so each piece needs more time on the glass board to shrink to shape before it is applied. That extra labor is why the Model S is quoted separately; text us with the year and model for a figure.
Is the Model S rear window done in one piece?
Yes. One sheet of ceramic film is heat-formed to the curve of the rear glass on a glass board, then applied in a single pass over the defroster lines. There is no seam and the lines are not scratched or lifted.
Will tint on a Model S affect the cameras, sensors or phone key?
No. The camera positions on the windshield and fenders are masked and the film pattern stops short of them. The ceramic film contains no metal, so the phone key, cellular and GPS signals pass through the glass unchanged.
What should a Venice owner expect right after the tint goes on?
Leave the windows up for several days while the film cures. A little haze or a few small water pockets in the first days are normal and clear on their own. Book an appointment before driving over so the bay is ready for the car.
