Prep for electronics

Roughly 5.9 miles, or about a 12 to 14 minute drive outside rush hour. Open Monday to Saturday, 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM; Sunday the doors are closed. Why would an Alondra Park Model X owner pick a Carson shop for tint?
Because the Model X is not a car to learn on. The windshield alone is a large curved panel, and the falcon doors need careful handling. A shop that tints Teslas every week, a 12 to 14 minute drive from Alondra Park, is worth the trip.
Do you tint the Model X panoramic windshield?
Yes, the windshield is its own line on a Tesla quote, and the X windshield is the largest of them. Ceramic film there cuts heat on your face and hands while staying light enough to be legal. Ask for it when you call so the extra time is set aside.
Will ceramic film affect Autopilot cameras or the glass-mounted sensors?
No. The camera areas on the glass are left uncovered, and ceramic film contains no metal, so there is no signal interference with the cameras, the phone key or any antenna. We shield the rear-window electronics during prep so they stay dry and intact.
How long should I expect the Alondra Park trip and the tint to take together?
The drive is short, so the tint sets the schedule. Doors and rear glass on a Model X can take much of a day; a Model 3 is quicker. Most owners drop the car in the morning and pick it up by late afternoon. Waiting at the shop is fine too.
Is the film cut on my Tesla's glass?
No, and that matters. Film is cut on a glass board, shaped and then applied to the car. Trimming on the vehicle scratches glass and can cut defroster lines. Our edge sits to the gasket so you do not see a strip of light a few months later.
