The back window on a Model 3 or Model Y is one large curved sheet of glass. We shrink a single panel of ceramic film to match that curve on a glass board before it goes on, so the rear view has no split line and no bubbles along the defroster grid.
Front doors stay at the legal shade and still reject a large share of infrared heat; rear doors can go darker. The film edges are cut to the glass, not short of it, so there is no bright gap at the top of the window.
Longer doors and taller glass mean larger film panels that need more heat-shaping. These two take longer in the bay than a Model 3 and are priced accordingly, quoted by model when you call.
The flat, angular glass on the Cybertruck cuts differently from any other Tesla. The film is patterned to each panel so the edges line up with the trim.
Tesla rear glass sits close to speakers and wiring. That zone is prepped and shielded before any water touches the glass.

Yes. The rear window is where a two-piece job shows most, with a seam right in your mirror view. At 4.4 miles, Torrance is close enough to get the rear glass done as one heat-shaped panel without giving up a day for it.
A single sheet of ceramic film is laid over the outside of the rear window and shrunk with heat until it follows the curve of the glass. It is then moved inside and applied in one pass over the defroster lines. No seam, no overlap, and the lines are not scratched.
Model 3, Model Y, Model S, Model X and Cybertruck. Each has its own pattern and its own price, quoted by model at the shop. The Cybertruck is the newest on the list and its flat panels are cut to match the trim lines.
It does not. Ceramic film carries no metal, so there is no signal interference with the phone key, the cellular connection or the cameras. The camera window at the top of the windshield and the side repeater cameras are masked and stay clear.
Plan on the better part of a morning or afternoon, depending on the model. Doors and rear glass on a Model 3 are quicker than a Model X. You can wait at the shop or drop the car off; keep the windows up for a few days afterward so the film cures.
