Frameless door glass means the film edge has to be cut precisely to the top of the window, because there is no frame to hide behind. The film is patterned on a glass board and the edge is run right to the glass line, so nothing shows when the door is open.
The rear window is tall and curved. One sheet of ceramic film is heat-formed to the curve and applied over the defroster grid without a seam.
Each model has its own pattern and labor time, so the price is given per model. The Model Y shares a lot with the Model 3 but has a larger rear window; the X and Cybertruck are different jobs again.
Camera zones are masked and kept clear, and the ceramic film has no metal, so Autopilot, the phone key and cellular signal are unaffected.
