The falcon-wing doors have their own glass shape and the front doors are tall, so the Model X uses the largest film panels of any Tesla. Each panel is heat-formed on a glass board and applied to the window, with the edges finished at the glass line.
The wide back glass is covered in a single piece of ceramic film, shaped to the curve before it goes on, so there is no seam in the mirror and nothing lifts at the defroster grid.
Smaller panels than the X but the same hand-cut method. The Model S has long curved doors that also need careful heat-shaping; the 3 and Y are quicker in the bay.
Flat, angular panels with hard corners. Film for the Cybertruck is patterned to each window so the edges follow the trim.
Camera areas on the windshield and fenders are masked and the film stops short of them. Ceramic film has no metal, so the phone key and connectivity are unchanged.
Audio MotorSports can also fit a dash camera or GPS tracker to the Tesla during the same visit, and handles car stereo, CarPlay and Android Auto, car alarm and remote start work on other vehicles.

For a car with this much glass, yes. The Model X needs the largest film panels of any Tesla and the most heat-shaping, so the install quality matters more than on a smaller car. Owners drive farther than 31 miles for Tesla tint here all the time.
The rear door glass on a Model X is cut into the falcon-wing door and has its own curve and edge shape. The film is patterned to that glass on a board, heat-formed, and then applied with the door open so the edge sits cleanly at the glass line.

Yes. The windshield camera cluster and the side repeater cameras are masked before the glass is prepped, and the film pattern stops short of them. The ceramic film has no metal layer, so there is no interference with the phone key, cellular or GPS.
Book a morning appointment. The Model X takes longer than a Model 3 because of the glass size, so dropping it off for the day is the easy option, though waiting at the shop is fine too. Keep the windows up for several days afterward while the film cures.
