Legal fronts, dark rears
California allows 70% VLT on the front doors. Ceramic film at that shade still blocks a large share of infrared heat; rear doors and back glass can go darker.

It is about 36.5 miles, roughly 73 to 88 minutes outside rush hour. Hours are Monday through Saturday, 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM, with Sunday closed. Schedule the appointment, then either wait at the shop or drop the car and make a day of it. Owners have come from as far as Temecula, so Azusa is a routine drive for this work.

Should I tint a new Tesla right after delivery?
It is the easiest time to do it. The glass is clean, there is no old film to remove, and you get the heat rejection from the first summer. Book a slot in the first weeks and the car is finished in a day.
How far is the drive from Azusa for Tesla tint?

Will ceramic film block the cameras on a new Model Y?
No. Each camera zone on the glass is masked and left uncovered, and the ceramic film has no metal layer, so there is nothing to interfere with the cameras or the phone key. The car works the same as it did on delivery day.
What is included in a Tesla tint quote?
The film, the hand-cut install on each piece of glass you choose, and the prep around the rear-window electronics. Teslas are quoted by model at the shop because glass area varies so much. Text the year and model and Nick will send the number.
Does new Tesla glass need any special prep before tint?
It needs a thorough clean and a careful mask of the camera and sensor areas, but no stripping. The rear glass is shaped on a board rather than on the car, and the electronics near the back window are shielded before any water goes on.
