The run from Playa Vista

Playa Vista questions we hear
Is there any reason to wait before tinting a new Tesla?
No. New glass is the easiest glass to tint: no residue, no scratches, no previous film. The sooner the ceramic goes on, the sooner the seats and dash stop taking direct sun. Most Playa Vista owners book within the first week or two of delivery.
How long is the trip from Playa Vista to your Carson shop?
About half an hour outside rush hour. It is a straightforward drive and the car is in the bay for a few hours. Plenty of owners come from far beyond the Westside for the same install; Tesla Tint LA has tinted cars for people who drove in from Temecula.
Will the tint look even on all the windows of a new Model Y or Model 3?
Yes. Every piece is cut from the same film roll and the shades are chosen together so the doors and rear glass read as one beside the factory roof glass, with the fronts at the legal limit. Nick holds samples against the glass with you before anything is cut.
What should I avoid doing in the first days after Tesla tint?
Leave the windows up for a few days while the film cures to the glass; Nick will give you the exact timing at pickup. A light haze or small water pockets can appear at first and clear on their own as the moisture evaporates. After that, nothing special is required.
Can you install a dash camera on a new Tesla without visible wires?
Yes. The camera's power lead is routed along the headliner and down the pillar to a hidden connection, so nothing hangs from the mirror. Audio MotorSports does dash camera installation in the same bay as the tint, and it fits easily into the same appointment.
