The Model 3 and Model Y back glass curves hard in both directions. We heat-shrink one sheet of ceramic film on the outside until it follows the curve, then move it inside and install it with no seam. It is the piece of glass you look through most, so it is worth doing right.
Frameless Tesla doors mean the film edge is cut to sit just below the seal, where it cannot lift when the window drops.

The factory roof glass is already dark; ceramic film on the doors and rear glass handles the heat that lands on the front seats.

Because every strip leaves a line across the glass that shows in daylight and in the mirror. Shrinking a single sheet to that curve takes longer and more skill, but the back window ends up looking like factory dark glass. On a car you look through all day, that is the difference.
Yes. The trip is short, and a Model 3 or Model Y with sides and rear done is usually finished the same day. If you are adding a dash camera, it may make more sense to drop the car off in the morning. We will tell you when you book.
Neither. The backup camera is in the trunk or hatch lid, not on the glass, so the film never touches it. The defroster lines are under the film and keep working; just give the film a few days to cure with the defroster off before using it.
There is no limit on the rear doors or rear window; the only California rule is for the front door glass, which has to pass 70% of visible light. Most Lynwood owners go dark in the back and keep a legal shade in front; ceramic film at that front shade still cuts most heat.
No. The film contains no metal, so the phone key, Bluetooth and cellular signals pass through the glass. The windshield camera housing is left uncovered and the pillar cameras are outside the door glass. Autopilot and the app work the same after the tint.
