Los Alamitos Model 3 owners have their Tesla window tint done at Tesla Tint LA by Audio MotorSports, 22025 S Avalon Blvd Ste A in Carson, about 11.2 miles from Los Alamitos. The Model 3 leads here because its rear window is the toughest glass in the lineup to tint cleanly; we shrink one sheet of ceramic film to it, leave the cameras open, and quote the job by model.

The back glass curves sharply in two directions. A single sheet of ceramic film is heat-shrunk on the outside of the glass until it sits flat, then installed inside with no seam. The frameless door glass is cut so the edge hides under the seal when the window drops.
The Y is a taller version of the same job, the S and X need more shaping, and the Cybertruck is flat panes cut on a board. Each has its own quote by model.
The phone key, the cell signal and the cameras all work as they did before.
A strip across the top of the windshield for glare; the factory roof glass is already dark, so the film goes on the side and rear glass.

About 11.2 miles, roughly 22 to 27 minutes outside rush hour. Open Monday through Saturday, 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM; closed on Sunday. Reserve a slot, then drop the Model 3 off or wait at the shop while the tint goes on. Owners drive in from well over 100 miles for this; Los Alamitos is a quick trip.
Waiting inside is easy for Los Alamitos customers: there is seating, Netflix on the TV, free Wi-Fi, a restroom and a water fountain, and a mall, movie theaters, restaurants and a Starbucks are within walking distance. The curve. It bends front to back and side to side at the same time, and a flat sheet of film has to be shrunk with heat until it follows every bit of it. A shop that rushes will split it into strips. Done as one piece, it looks like factory glass; that takes practice.
Either works. The trip is short enough that many owners wait, and a Model 3 is usually done the same day. If you are adding a dash camera, drop it off in the morning and pick it up later. We will tell you which makes more sense when you book.
No. The film is non-metallic, so signals for the phone key, Bluetooth and cellular pass through the glass. The windshield camera housing is left uncovered, and the pillar cameras are not on tinted glass. Autopilot sees what it always saw.
The front doors must pass 70% of visible light, so they stay light. Ceramic film at that shade still cuts most of the infrared heat, so the front seats get cooler without a dark look. The rear doors and back glass have no limit and can go dark.
Give it a few days. The film cures against the glass during that time, so keep the windows up and the rear defroster off. After that, everything is normal. Clean the film with an ammonia-free cleaner and a soft cloth, and it will stay clear for years.
