The back glass bends sharply two ways, and we shrink a single sheet of ceramic film on the outside of it until it lies flat, then install it inside with no seam. The door glass is frameless, so the film edge is cut to hide under the seal when the window drops.
A taller version of the job on the Y, more shaping on the S and X, flat board-cut panes on the truck. Each with its own quote by model.
No metal in the ceramic film, so the phone key, the cell link and the cameras are unaffected.
A strip along the top of the windshield for glare, clear of the camera housing. The factory roof glass is already dark, so film goes on the side and rear glass.

About 12.5 miles, roughly 25 to 30 minutes outside rush hour. Hours: Monday to Saturday, 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM, closed Sunday. Reserve a slot, then drop the Model 3 off or wait at the shop while it is tinted. We have had Teslas driven in from Temecula for this; La Palma is a short run.

Fingers at the edges, seams where strips meet, and haze where the film was not shrunk to the curve. All of it sits in your mirror. Avoiding that means shrinking one sheet on the outside of the glass until it fits exactly, which takes time and practice.
Yes. The drive is under half an hour outside rush hour, and a Model 3 with sides and rear done is usually finished the same day. If you add a dash camera, dropping the car off in the morning is easier. We will suggest which when you book.
No. The ceramic film is non-metallic, so it does not block the phone key, Bluetooth or cellular data. The windshield camera housing stays uncovered and the pillar cameras are not on tinted glass. The car drives and connects the same after the install.
The front doors have to pass 70% of visible light, so they stay light. Ceramic film at that shade still rejects most of the infrared heat, so the front seats get cooler. The rear doors and back glass can go as dark as you want.
A few days. The film is curing against the glass, so keep the windows up and the rear defroster off during that time. After that, use the car normally and clean the film with an ammonia-free cleaner and a soft cloth. It will not fade or bubble.
