The front door glass on the S is the longest in the lineup and curves two ways, so the film is shaped on the outside of the glass with heat until it fits, then installed inside with the edge under the seal line. The rear window is a single sheet.

The shop sits right off the 110 freeway, with easy access from the 405 and the 710 as well, so three freeways lead to it from La Habra.
Model S tint, like every Tesla, is quoted by model at the shop; text the year and model for a figure. For a non-Tesla reference, Solar is $249 and Solar Ceramic is $329 installed, as of October 2026. With heat, on the outside of the glass. The sheet is laid on the outside of the window, warmed and worked until it follows the curve with no fingers, then moved to the inside and installed. On a Model S that shaping is most of the labor, which is why the quote is by model.
For long, curved glass that shows every flaw, yes. Under an hour each way gets you a shop that shapes Tesla film every day and does the rear window in one sheet. Owners drive farther than La Habra for the same work, and the car is usually ready the same day.
No. The windshield camera and rain sensor housing is left uncovered, and the film we install has no metal in it, so nothing blocks the phone key, Bluetooth or the cellular connection. The car connects and drives the same after the tint.
California requires the front door glass to pass 70% of visible light, and ceramic film at that shade still rejects most infrared heat, so the fronts are cooler without looking dark. The rear doors and rear window have no limit and can go as dark as you like.
Wait a few days. The film is curing against the glass during that time, so keep the windows up and the defroster off. After that the defroster works normally through the film, and the lines are no more visible than they are through factory glass.
