Each front door on the S carries a long pane that curves front to back and top to bottom. The film is shrunk on the outside until it matches, then installed inside with the edge tucked under the seal line. The wide rear window is done as one sheet.
Shorter glass, same method: one-piece rear window, frameless doors cut to the seal, and the film trimmed clear of the cameras.
The X adds the falcon-wing glass and the Cybertruck is all flat panes cut on a board. Both are quoted by model at the shop.

Length and curve. A Model S front door pane is long and bends in two directions, so a flat sheet of film must be shaped with heat until it lies on the glass without a wrinkle. A Model 3 door is shorter and nearly flat by comparison. More shaping means more labor, which is why the quote is by model.

No. The windshield camera and rain sensor housing is left uncovered, and the film we use has no metal in it, so nothing is blocked. Cellular, Bluetooth, the phone key and the cameras all behave the same after the tint as before it.
The front doors must let 70% of visible light through, so they stay light. Ceramic film at that shade still rejects most infrared heat, which is what you feel. The rear doors and the back glass can go darker, and the factory roof glass is already dark.
Yes. The film lies over the defroster lines without cutting or scoring them. Let the film cure for a few days with the windows up before using the defroster, and after that it works normally. The lines are visible through the film, as they are through factory glass.
