Big side glass and a windshield that runs into the roof. Quoted separately because the X uses more film and more time than any other Tesla.
Sensor and camera zones
Masked, left clear and checked before the car leaves. Ceramic film has no metal, so nothing about the car changes except the heat coming through the glass.

Getting here from Bell
The run is about 11.3 miles, around 23 to 27 minutes outside rush hour. Doors open Monday through Saturday, 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM, closed Sunday. Make an appointment, then drop the car for the day or wait at the shop while the film cures enough to drive.
If you would rather wait inside than make two trips from Bell, the shop has seating, a TV with Netflix, free Wi-Fi, a restroom and a water fountain. We are LGBTQ-friendly and everyone is welcome; it is how the shop runs. Three freeways lead here: we are right off the 110, and the 405 and 710 drop you close by, whichever way Bell traffic sends you.

Bell questions we hear
Is a Model S harder to tint than other Teslas?
The side glass is longer and curves more, so the film needs more heat-shaping before it will lie flat without fingers at the edge. That is extra labor, which is why the S is quoted on its own. The result on a well-shaped piece is a clean edge and no distortion.
From Bell, how far is the shop and can I wait there?

How dark can I go on a Tesla in California?
Front door windows must stay at 70% VLT. Behind the front doors there is no limit, so the rear doors and back glass can go dark. Ceramic film at the legal front shade still rejects most of the infrared heat, which is the part you feel.
Does ceramic film block the Tesla phone key or cameras?
It does not. The film has no metallic layer, so Bluetooth, cell and camera signals pass through it. The camera windows on the glass are masked off and left uncovered as well, so the car sees exactly what it saw before.
What should I bring from Bell for a Tesla tint quote?
