Why is a one-piece rear window better than strips?
Because you look through it every time you check the mirror. Strips leave a horizontal line and a seam that can catch dust or lift at the edge. A single sheet shaped to the curve has no line at all, and the film ages evenly across the whole pane instead of strip by strip.
How far is Norwalk from the Carson shop, honestly?
About 11.7 miles, which is twenty-five minutes or so outside rush hour. Norwalk owners usually book a morning time and have the car back the same afternoon. Given that the shop sees Tesla owners from more than 100 miles away, it is a short run for the same install.
Can the rear defroster be damaged during the tint?
Not when the install is done with care. The defroster grid is on the inside surface of the glass, where the film goes, so the film is pressed down with soft tools and never scraped. Ceramic film has no metal, so the defroster and antenna keep working exactly as before.
Does ceramic film block the Tesla phone key or app connection?
No. The phone key uses Bluetooth and the app uses the car's cellular connection; neither is affected by a film with no metal in it. The card reader on the pillar works the same. Camera lenses are left clear, so driver-assist features are unchanged too.
