Irvine Model X owners make the drive to Tesla Tint LA by Audio MotorSports, 22025 S Avalon Blvd Ste A in Carson, about 27 miles away, for ceramic window tint on the falcon-wing glass, the tall front doors and the rear glass. Each curve is shaped on the glass, the cameras and sensors stay clear, and the Model X, like every Tesla, is quoted by model at the shop.

The falcon-wing doors carry curved glass that swings up from the roof, so the film is formed to the curve and trimmed to clear the seal where the door closes. The front doors are the tallest Tesla builds, and the windshield gets a visor strip only, below the camera housing.

The S has long curved doors and the Cybertruck has flat panes cut on a board; each gets its own quote by model.
The factory roof glass is already dark; ceramic film on the doors and rear glass keeps the back of the cabin cooler for second and third row passengers.

Book a time and plan to drop the Model X off for the day, or wait at the shop if you prefer. We have tinted Teslas for owners who drove up from San Diego, so Irvine is well within the usual range.
Plenty of Irvine drivers wait inside; there is seating, a TV with Netflix, free Wi-Fi and a restroom, and if you want to stretch your legs a mall, coffee shops and restaurants are a short walk away. We are LGBTQ-friendly and everyone is welcome; it is how the shop runs. Three freeways lead here: we are right off the 110, and the 405 and 710 drop you close by, whichever way Irvine traffic sends you.

The glass is curved and hinged at the roof, so the film is shaped to the curve and cut to end exactly where the seal meets the body, or an edge would catch each time the door closes. It is slower than a conventional rear door, and it is the main reason the Model X carries its own quote.
For a car with falcon-wing glass, the tallest doors in the lineup and a roof that runs into the windshield, yes. Owners drive farther than Irvine for this. Book a morning appointment, drop the car off, and it is usually ready the same day.
Yes. The film is non-metallic, so the phone key, Bluetooth and cellular signals pass through. The camera areas on the glass are left uncovered and the film stops clear of every sensor housing. Autopilot sees the same view after the tint as before.
As dark as you like. The law restricts only the front door glass, which must pass 70% of visible light. Rear doors, third-row quarter glass and the rear window are unrestricted, and most owners go dark there since the factory roof glass is already dark.
Yes. The film is on the inside of the glass and never touches the hinge or seal, so the doors open and close normally from the moment you leave. Leave the windows up for the first few days while the film cures, and skip the rear defroster during that stretch.
