Camera and sensor clearance
Tesla cameras are mounted behind the glass and the car depends on them. We mask each camera zone before any film goes on, leave it uncovered, and confirm the view is clean before the car leaves.

Metallic films can interfere with signals. Ceramic film does not, so the phone key, cell connection and cameras work as they did. It also blocks far more heat per shade than dyed film.
All four are regulars. Frameless doors cut to the gasket, one-piece rear glass shaped on a board, and each model quoted on its own at the counter.
California allows 70% VLT on the front doors. We keep you there and still cut heat with ceramic film; the rears can go darker.
Audio MotorSports installs dash cameras, GPS trackers, alarms with remote start and car stereos in the same shop, so a Costa Mesa owner can get more than tint out of the drive.
About 23.7 miles, which works out to roughly 47 to 57 minutes outside rush hour. Hours are Monday through Saturday, 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM, closed Sunday. Book a slot, then drop the car for the day or wait at the shop. Owners have driven in from San Diego for this, so Costa Mesa is well within the normal range.
Wait inside (seating, Netflix, free Wi-Fi, restroom, water fountain) or take a walk: restaurants, coffee shops, a Starbucks, a mall and movie theaters are all within walking distance, which Costa Mesa customers tell us makes the drop-off painless. We are LGBTQ-friendly and everyone is welcome; it is how the shop runs. Three freeways lead here: we are right off the 110, and the 405 and 710 drop you close by, whichever way Costa Mesa traffic sends you.
Tesla window tint is priced per model at the shop; text the year and model and Nick will send the quote. For a non-Tesla reference, as of October 2026, Solar is $249 and Solar Ceramic is $329 installed. Payment plan available, ask Nick. Questions
Each camera window on the glass is masked before the film is laid, so the film never covers the lens area. After the install we look through each camera zone to confirm it is clean. The ceramic film has no metal, so even the areas near the cameras cause no interference.
Not close to it. The run is about 23.7 miles, 47 to 57 minutes outside rush hour, and owners come from more than 100 miles away for the same job. Set an appointment, drive up, and the car is finished the same day.
No. The camera zones are left uncovered and the ceramic film is non-metallic, so there is nothing to block or distort what the car sees or hears. Everything that worked when you drove in works the same when you drive out.
Ceramic film. It rejects infrared heat without needing to be dark, which matters on front windows that must stay at California 70% VLT, and it has no metal layer that could interfere with signals. It is hand-cut on a board to each Tesla model.
By model, at the shop. A Model 3 and a Model X do not use the same amount of film or labor, so Nick quotes the specific car. Text the year and model ahead of time and he will have a number ready when you arrive.
