How long does a Model X tint take compared to a Model 3?
Longer. The X has more glass, taller doors and a rear window that takes more shaping, and the falcon doors mean the upper glass is reached differently. We schedule the X with more bay time and quote it by model so the price matches the work.

Will tint affect the Model X cameras or the key fob?
No. The camera zones on the glass are masked before any film is applied and left clear, and the ceramic film carries no metal, so signals pass through. Cameras, sensors and the phone key keep working the way they did when the car rolled in.
Can the Model X front windows be tinted legally?
Yes, at California 70% VLT. At that shade ceramic film still rejects a large share of infrared heat, which counts on a car with this much glass. Behind the front doors the glass can go darker.
Why is the Model X quoted at the shop instead of listed?
Because glass area and labor differ so much between Tesla models that a single list price would be wrong for most of them. The X is priced on its own. Text the year and model to the shop and Nick will send the figure.
