Is there a Tesla tint shop in Wilmington itself?
The work is done at one location, Audio MotorSports in Carson, which is a short hop from Wilmington. Tesla Tint LA is the Tesla-focused side of that shop. You book, drive the few miles over, and either drop the car or wait at the shop while the ceramic film is installed.
How does ceramic film hold up on a Model S rear window?
The Model S rear glass is large and curved, so the film has to be shaped to it rather than forced. Ceramic film handles that curve well, keeps its color, and does not degrade the defroster. The shop preps the area around the rear electronics before any film is laid.
Will window tint interfere with my Tesla cameras or sensors?
No. Ceramic film is non-metallic, so it does not block GPS, LTE, key signals or the cameras. The install leaves the camera windows and sensor zones clear, and the film is trimmed so nothing overlaps the areas Tesla needs for Autopilot and the rear-view camera.
