The drive from San Gabriel
Expect about 20.4 miles and somewhere around 41 to 49 minutes outside rush hour. Audio MotorSports is open Monday through Saturday 9:30 to 6:00 and closed Sunday. Reserve a time, then wait at the shop or drop off and return. For a longer job from San Gabriel, some people walk to the mall, the movie theaters or a coffee shop nearby; the DoubleTree down the street has a full bar, and Cabrillo Beach is about 12 minutes away. Everyone is welcome; we are an LGBTQ-friendly shop. The shop sits right off the 110 freeway, with easy access from the 405 and the 710 as well, so three freeways lead to it from San Gabriel.

San Gabriel questions we hear
Why does the Tesla rear window need special handling?
Because it is one big, deeply curved piece of glass. Film that is not shrunk enough will show fingers along the edges; film that is overworked will distort. The trick is shaping it off the car until it lies flat on the curve, then installing it as one sheet with the defroster lines protected.
Is it realistic to drive from San Gabriel for Tesla window tint?
Yes. It is about 45 minutes each way, and the result is a rear window with no seams and side glass that fits to the edge. Audio MotorSports regularly sees customers from more than 100 miles out, so a San Gabriel trip is well within what people do for a tint they will not redo.
Do you use a single sheet or two strips on the rear glass?
A single sheet, always. Splitting the rear window into strips is faster but leaves a visible line through the glass and a seam that can lift. Tesla Tint LA shapes one continuous piece of ceramic film for the whole pane so the view through the mirror is uninterrupted.
Will the film harm the rear defroster or the antenna?
No. The defroster grid is on the inside surface of the glass, and the film is squeegeed over it with soft tools so the lines are never scraped. Ceramic film has no metal content, so the antenna elements and the car's radios keep working exactly as before.
What else can be installed on my Tesla during the same appointment?
Dash camera installation is the most common pairing, followed by GPS tracker installation and speaker replacement. Audio MotorSports is a full car audio and car alarm shop, so if you want a second job, say so when you book and the bay time will be set aside for both.
