Does filming the side and rear glass lower the temperature inside a Tesla?
Yes. Sun lands on the seats, the steering wheel and the dash through the doors and the rear window, and ceramic film cuts a large share of it. The cabin is cooler when you open the door and the climate system catches up faster. The factory roof glass is already dark.
Is it worth coming down from Rancho Palos Verdes for Tesla tint?
Yes. It is about twenty minutes to Carson, and the film is applied from inside the car by a shop that handles Tesla glass all week. Owners drive from far beyond the Peninsula for the same job; Tesla Tint LA has had customers from Temecula. A Rancho Palos Verdes trip is one of the shorter ones.
Will the film make my Tesla look different from outside?
Slightly, and only where it is applied. The side and rear windows read a bit darker, which most owners want. Ceramic does not go mirrored and does not turn purple over time. The factory roof glass already looks very dark from the street, so that part of the car stays as it was.
How is the one-piece rear window filmed without removing trim?
The film is shaped on a separate surface to match the rear glass curve, then brought inside and applied to the glass. The trim stays in place, nothing is removed, and no blade touches the glass. The defroster lines are guarded while the sheet is pressed down.
Can I add fronts, sides and the rear glass in the same appointment?
Yes, and most owners do. A full Tesla tint covers the four door windows, the rear glass and the fronts at the legal shade, all in one visit. It takes a few hours. Nick will tell you the time to plan for your model when you call.
